Angkor Golf Resort Academy Welcomes British PGA Professional.
Ewan Hogarth will join the team at Angkor Golf Resort to provide expert tuition for the local and international guests during the month of June. A key part of the month in Siem Reap will be leading the Junior Golf Program in addition to assisting with staff training on all things golf.
The 12 local children aged 12-14 who were selected earlier this year are now more than half way through the 6-month program. During June/July only 4 for the 12 will be selected to continue for an addition 6 month of free tuition at the Academy.
“It is very exciting to be involved with something from the start and I can’t wait to work with these talented young golfers” Ewan Hogarth.
Ewan will bring with him over ten years of Professional coaching experience.
He is currently PGA Professional at the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has several years of experience coaching around Asia, including coaching the National Girls Team in East Malaysia while working at Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club.
Life as a golf Professional has seen Ewan teach all over the world including two years as Head Professional for Costa Cruises.
“The often overlooked fundamentals are so very important, these provide the golfer with a greater opportunity to get to the desired impact position on a consistent basis.” Ewan Hogarth.
In addition to coaching, Ewan has had success as a player on the Tartan Tour in Scotland with 2 wins and made several appearances at the Scottish and British PGA Championship. 2010 saw Ewan compete at the final stage of Open Qualifying, narrowly missing a spot in the field for Open Championship at St Andrews. While in Asia, he also played in the ASEAN Tours Sabah Masters.
“Alan and I grew up playing junior golf together back in Scotland, I recently visited him at Angkor Golf Resort and was very impressed with the golf course and the facilities, it will be great to visit again and I can’t wait to get started at the Academy” Ewan Hogarth.
“It’s great that we have PGA Professionals wanting to come here, to Angkor Golf Resort, it shows that we have something special. Ewan will be a great addition to the team for his 4 weeks here and golfers should take this opportunity to learn from someone with his experience as a player and coach.” Alan Martin PGA Head Professional Angkor Golf Resort.
