Dates confirmed for the second edition of LET Lalla Aicha Tour School in Cambodia
Last year, the Ladies European Tour (LET) added a new Lalla Aicha Tour School event to the schedule atAngkor Golf Resort, Cambodia, providing an exciting new destination for golfers from Asia and around the World to compete and the opportunity to progress to the final stage in Marrakech, Morocco.
This year’sevent will take place 18th to 21st October 2017 over four rounds on the award-winning par 72, 7,279-yard championship golf course designed by European legend, Sir Nick Faldo, which is conveniently located five minutes from Siem Reap International Airport and 10 minutes from the famous Angkor Wat temple. Cambodia has a budding golf tourism market and this event will showcase the world class facilities of Angkor Golf Resort, which has received a huge raft of accolades since opening in 2008. The resort hosted the Handa Faldo Cambodian Classic on the men’s Asian Tour in 2012.
In October 2016, (year one of the tournament in Cambodia), players from six different countries competed and six players secured their spots at the Final Qualifying Stage in Morocco. It was Yan Liu (China) who led the qualifiers with an impressive total of 268 (-20), which included a new course record 63 (-9) in round three. She collected a winner’s cheque for US$1000. Liu then proceeded to qualify for full LET status after another solid performance in Morocco, finishing T-25th at the Final Stage.
