Academy Students Take Top Prize
Angkor Golf Resort was the Host Venue for the Samdech Techno Prime Minister's Cup 2017. The event saw Golfers and Government Officials from around the Country visit Siem Reap for the event as part of the Khmer New Year Celebrations.
Academy Student and Ambassador Tevy Sareoun was in the field of competitors looking to secure her place in the new National Golf Team of Cambodia. WIth the upcoming SEA Games in Malaysia (August) this was a great opportunity for National Team Players to showcase their talents. Under the system 36 format Tevy came out on top in the Ladies section with a level par score of 72 (nett). A prestigious win for Tevy and a highlight in her golfing career as she was presented with the winners trophy by Prime Minister Hun Sen himself at the Gala Dinner.
Also amongst the competitors was Tommy Lamb, the 14 year old student from Singapore was visiting the Angkor Golf Resort Acadmey on a training with week our Head professional and he took full advantage of his invite to the event, producing a one over par score of 73 to claim first prize in the gross division. Tommy obviously has a fondness for the Angkor Golf Resort layout, in July 2016 he finish 3rd in the Faldo Series Event with scores of 71 and 76.
