GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

Golf Course Superintendent Mr. Jim Gubricky

Chicago native Jim Gubricky has been leading the Golf Course Maintenance team from Day 1. Jim has a wealth of golf course maintenance experience both here in Asia and in the USA. Jim was an Integral part of the pre-opening construction team and has been with us ever since. Jim, together with his assistants Mr. T and Mr. Seyha can take a great deal of pride in their accomplishments over the past decade. Since opening in 2008 the golf course quickly gained a reputation as one of the region’s best maintained courses and has claimed numerous awards to validate these claims. Most recently, the course was voted the best maintained course in the Asia Pacific at the Asian Golf Awards. The course has also been certified by the Audobon Cooperative Sanctuary Program in recognition for our environmental sustainability efforts and best practices. The course is a haven for wildlife, particularly Birds and this was highlighted at the recent survey conducted by the Sam Veasna Conservation center when they monitored 52 species of birds finding a natural habitat here at the course. Other sustainability efforts that we practice on a daily basis include; water management, composting, bio-fuel conversion and solar energy. Pesticides and Fertilizers are kept to an absolute minimum here at Angkor Golf Resort. If you see Jim or his team out there on the course, be sure to say hello and feel free to ask any questions.
